Contact UsHow often should I have a dental exam and cleaning?
The American Dental Association recommends dental exams and cleanings with a dentist every six months, or twice a year. While every six months is the recommended time frame for a routine dental appointment, your dental exam and cleaning schedule will vary. At Grafton Dental Care, Dr. Gupta may recommend more than two visits to our office for an exam and cleaning for patients with a high risk of gum disease, decay, or signs of oral abnormalities.
What happens during a teeth cleaning and exam?
Our dental hygienist will physically examine your mouth for abnormalities before starting the cleaning. If there are no significant issues detected, our hygienist will begin to remove plaque and tartar off the surface of your teeth and from your gum line. Once this step has been completed, our hygienist will polish your teeth with gritty toothpaste, then rinse and floss your teeth! Dr. Gupta will then come into your treatment room to discuss any findings, recommend treatment and discuss concerns you may have about your oral health.
How much does a dental exam and cleaning cost?
At Grafton Dental Care, we want all of our services to be accessible and affordable for our patients. Whether you have dental insurance or need an exam and dental cleaning without insurance, our office has multiple payment options: cash, debit, credit, FSAs, HSAs, and more!
